the otaku side of me

How do they do it? How can other people commit to blogging? It has been several months and I have yet to post a decent blog on what I’ve been watching. This blog should just be a log book; not a blog. O Giselle, why not write blog on what you watch? But since I want to write again, let us be happy with the following log:

In as much as I loved Tamaki’s antics in Ouran Highschool Host Club – I am a Kyoya-senpai fun! Especially that police outfit!!! I became a Junpei fangirl after watching Highschool Debut but went all gaga after  Detective Conan.  Acchan didn’t really astound me as Mizuki in Hana Kimi 2011. Naramiya is the perfect Yankee-kun(to Megane-chan)!!!

Maybe? Must be! Pride made me a fan of Queens. KimuTaku for the win! Though, I wasn’t really happy with Engine that much. Who would’ve thought I’d actually like AKB48? I never thought it possible but I changed my mind after watching Majisuka Gakuin.

Who became a Junbait? Me! Me! Me! Darn that Gokusen series! I scream of Shin-Yankumi OTP! So why is Sawada Shin missing in the Gokusen movie? Tell me! Tell me! I even went as far as read the manga and watch the anime but no! Not enough!

Makes me question why Masaki died in I give my heart to you! And why did the 2nd die in Nurarihyon no mago? Sure I appreciate that it’s crucial for the story but that was so sad! Good thing the story with Nurarihyon and O-hime was worth it!

I can’t bear to watch another Ryo drama so I didn’t finish his Ganbatte ikemashoi and Nini. But I did endure and eventually liked Nino and Sho’s Yamada Taro Monogatari. I still can’t bear finishing Belzeebub but I got a little teary eyed when I saw the last episode of Bleach. Why end like that? Why?

Good thing I had a good laugh with My Boss, My Hero. Gotta love Koki in that series. So who loves KOKI? ME! ME! ME!

After everything I’ve said- what’s the lesson of this story? Fandom never stops.

I guess this will always be a cycle. Just when I thought I would be a die-hard fangirl for this season, I find myself gong back to my otaku roots.I am being lulled back into reading my beloved mangas.

It has been such a long time since I read Kimi ni Todoke. I thought Shaman King was over but no! They just released the Remix Track plus the sequel Flowers. And I just finished reading 6 months worth of the latest Bleach chapters! I’m tempted to read Naruto…but not tempted enough.

I have yet to know what’s been happening with Fairy Tail and Belbo! I don’t even want to start with the new season of  Shakugan no Shana.

My schedule is already full with work, raket, Masters and doramas… Ouran High School, Hana Kimi remake

Will this ever end???

So true

From JPop PH.

I think this is so true…

Fangirls, banzai! Banzai! Banzai!!!

So that people will understand, us (fangirls)
What a psychologist says about fangirls

A psychologist says: “Don’t underestimate those children who chase after Japanese/Korean celebrities, their hearts are purer than anyone else, they love courageously, they will want to try their best to tackle difficult obstacles, the language and cultural barriers. They symbolise peace, they don’t discriminate based on race, they befriend people with the same interest from different countries, they’re more passionate and warm than anyone else. They don’t betray the ones they like easily, they are persistent and don’t give up easily. They are stronger than anyone else on the inside, because when they are loving these Japanese/Korean stars, they experience the setbacks they’ve never experienced in life. They are all sensitive children, easily touched to tears for a long time because of one incident.

Through investigation, most of them understand gratitude. Their way of thinking is different from others, they don’t easily get carried away by love, they don’t harbour thoughts of doing bad things, and their criteria when looking for a partner is very high, other than looks, personality is more important, so the rate of marriage isn’t high, but neither is the rate of divorce.

Their memory is very good, they can easily remember the Japanese/Korean lyrics they don’t understand, and their coordination skills are also very strong. Most of them are cheerful children, not the kind who keep to themselves. Their will of determination is also very strong, they are able to persevere all the way just to buy something related to the celebrity they like.

In short, the way these children think is vastly different from others, and their thoughts are not easy to understand. Generally, only those who have similar interests are able to enter their world and understand it.

Watching Lovely Complex became a part of our daily routine. My bros would wait for me and we would watch a couple of episodes. This went on for a couple of days but I desperately wanted to know what will happen. So I stayed up and endured 4 hours of sleep so we could finish the series. Risa is really a great girl!

Sure, we got annoyed when she would confess and love and then stop loving Otanio and confess and love him again. We also got so frustrated when she became a little pathetic with him. But let it be known we continued to support her! She’s really hilarious- makes me want to wish I can do some of her faces.

Hands down this anime tops my list of ugly faces! Risa shifts from curios to incredulous to hilarious to scary to downright disturbing. But heck- who cares? She got Otani in the end! Kudos to this anime because we were able to laugh a lot. I just might read the manga so I can say I saw and read all versions of Lovely Complex!

Who doesn’t have one? But this anime takes it to the next level. I must admit that I would enjoy this anime better if I hadn’t watched the movie version. But still this anime is simply more hilarious than the movie. I’m loving every bit of Risa and Otani in this anime. Lovely Complex is indeed a fun watch!

I would never have thought that my youngest brother was actually very emphatic; seeing the way he reacts to the scenes of Risa confessing her heart out. I must say that Risa is one strong girl. Otani is still Otani- playful, confused but still caring Otani. I’m looking forward to finishing this anime. Really excited to finish this tonight!

Cheers to Otani and Risa!

the rave about rave

In spite of my busy schedule, I really take time to watch anything Japanese. It seems I feel my stress ebbing away as soon as I hear a different language. My brother happen to have a treasure of an external disk where he unearthed a collection of this anime, albeit until episode 20 only. But still- this is better than nothing.

So we watched RAVE. He mentioned that this was the earlier work of the manga author of Fairy Tail- since I liked Fairy Tail, I gave it a try. 2 episodes after- I figured the author liked to recycle, characters. There were a number of characters in Rave that also appear in Fairy Tail. Case in point: Plue.

All along I thought he was just a random character in FT but no! He seems to be the ultimate guardian here in Rave. Also, Jellal! Talk about casting the bad guy twice! Well, maybe Jellal is the younger version of the antagonist in Rave.

But as opposed to FT, the progression here is so ssssllllooooowww… With FT, a lot of things already happen in a single episode: fights get finished, resolutions happen, so on and so forth. But here- oh man! A single fight takes a couple of eps! Have I been too used to fast development and not appreciate the beauty of well, slow development?

I’m hoping I can resist just reading the ep recaps and actually watch the remaining 40+ eps for this anime. Here’s to crossed fingers!

It’s been a long while since I had a marathon with my brother. I kinda lost interest in watching animes because they almost never end. But then again, Fairy Tail is an anime that has the power to pull me back to anime-watching. And it did not fail me.

I started watching this anime a year and a half ago. Never had the time and interest to watch the other eps. Well until my bro downloaded the eps. We started with ep.17 all the way to 40. Still a long way to go though…

Either way… it was fun watching anime again. It’s really funny how characters always have ‘latent’ powers that only come out when their friends are in danger and that everyone has a backstory that will haunt them in the present. Still… this is fun! More, more of Fairy Tail!!!

I tried very hard to laugh without making a sound. It was hard! This movie is really something. It’s one of those sweet-funny-very-highschool-is movies that gets me every time. So, being the researcher that I’d like to think I am- I googled Lovely Complex.

With this, I learned that this movie is actually based on a manga and was already produced as an anime. To further appease my curiosity, I also read a little of the manga. Now I don’t know which I like better- the movie or the manga. I heart Koike Teppe but I think the anime Otani is way better!

No way!

Of all the stuff that happen in this series, this has got to be the one that cracked me up:

“I can’t look at you without hidden desires anymore!!!”

I almost fell off my seat after reading this. haha. Who would have thought you had it in you, Sawako? You didn’t really give Kazehaya a chance to properly react. hahaha! ‘Cause really, ‘there’s no way we could hate you for that’.

I gotta make time so I can catch up with the other eps. How come it’s only until Episode 12?

After a very tiring day, I sometimes look to them for relief. Yeah, call me a loser but an otaku is an otaku. Hmmm… I wish I can watch KNT real time. But I can only rely on recaps nowadays. I must say though, that things are getting more interesting. There seems to be movement with Sawako and Kazehaya. But I’m more looking forward to how Chi and Ryuu will pan out.

How cute can cute get?
