the otaku side of me

i’m such an otaku

Because I’m such a nice person, I decided to accompany a friend to “housesit”. Since I’m already a nice person, I also decided to wait for her to finish her french lessons so we can go “home” together. To kill time, I went to Market-Market to amuse myself. The places I went to really revealed my interests.

My first destination was in Book Sale. I thought I might see a good book that would interest me enough to buy it. But then I remembered why I was nice enough to housesit- to save on transportation. If  I would buy something, then that would defeat the purpose of saving right? So I left the bookstore because I just might be tempted.

Next stop was Video City. I know I have a membership here so I could easily borrow something. When I entered, a movie about zombies and mental patients was playing. I got too distracted and ended up watching the last 10 minutes of the movie. Like all movies of this genre, the movie ended tragically – 2 people survived but the entire zombieland managed to break free and is about to take over the world. Disgusted, I left the store to just roam around the mall.

Then I saw Comic Alley. I couldn’t contain my excitement upon seeing this. This was like Disneyland for any Japanese anime/manga fan. So I spent the next 60 or so minutes just checking out all their products. For a stall that was miniature in size, an hour is like forever. I inspected the posters, the keychains, the keypads, the CDs, the wallets, the ballers- EVERYTHING.

Then I saw something that made me think, “I have to have a picture with that”. That was my train of thought cause it was so expensive, no way I was buying it. But since I spent the past hour just rummaging through the products without buying anything yet, I kinda felt ashamed to ask the saleslady to have a picture with their product. This is the part where I realized how much of an otaku I am. I bought a CD so I can have enough “integrity” to have my picture!

So here it is. Presenting the proof that I am indeed an otaku:

I mean who wouldn’t love Urahara’s hat right?

How can they get? I am so looking forward to watching this series. O wait? I think I already said that. But yes, I say it again – I am such a fan of the Hong Sisters. How did they get so good?! How, tell me?!

This episode is a reunion of sort. I’m just glad they did not drag the time spent away from each other. Plus, I’m also happy that we kinda already know what the twist is. Of course, there could be a gazillion other twists just waiting to be revealed.

But really- the takehome for this episode is this scene! First there was Pig Rabbit, now there’s him. Eeeerrr- I don’t know if “that” will actually have name. But either way- CUTENESS!!!

Just as planned?!

Oh yeah! Ichigo’s really back. He’s looking good actually. But of course, we can’t really tell. He actually has to fight or “kick ass”Aizen first before we can claim that he’s actually stronger. Aizen might actually say- at the end of it all- that it was still part of the plan. waaaahhh!!

And Gin is not quite “dead” as we thought he was. Another affirmation that no bad guys ever die in Bleach.

Yeah. Bleach is getting awesome-er again!!!

Fan of Hong Sisters

My Sassy Girl Chun Hyang has always been in the list of my favorite series. For all the series that I watch, I never bothered to find out who their writers are- until after You’re Beautiful.

Because of Tae-Kyung, I found out about the writing prowess of the Hong Sisters. Since then whenever I hear of a drama they will write- I always get excited for I know it will have lots of laughs. So when they announced about Gumiho- I was clearly ecstatic.

I’m so looking forward to watch this! Especially since the’ll play the lead roles. The two of them just reek cuteness!!!

Playful Kiss

gyyyaaaahhhh!

(fangirl scream)

For my first post on Kdrama- I think it is fitting to feature the Korean Adaptation of Itazura na Kiss. Yeah, I know. How can I like a drama that I already saw (for like the nth time already)?! But the first was Taiwanese and the other one, an anime and the manga was not in color!

If there is one thing I am looking forward to this September- it is the premiere of this show. I may not be a Kim Hyun-joong fan (Duhh! He was sooo pathetic in BOF), but I’ll give him a chance. The fact that I find the character he’ll play so adorable is enough reason to give him this chance.

It’s gonna be a long 10 weeks once this show starts.

reluctant fan

I am a reluctant fan of Naruto.

I only started reading this manga a couple of months ago, the month when they released the part where Hinato almost died. Since I am a hopeless romantic, I am rooting for Hinata- Naruto tandem. I’m not sure if they actually have a name for this pairing. Hinato maybe, haha?!

But yes, I am also following the manga already. Though, I read it after I finish reading Bleach. I gotta keep my loyalties you know. But I do find the story interesting also. But since I missed the hundred-something chapters- I’m not as die hard as the others. Still, it is enough to know that I can always ask my brothers to explain who or what is going on.

One interesting part of Naruto I like is about his parents. The mere mention of Minato is just enough to make sad.  If only they didn’t die… If only..

That’s why I was so happy when I saw this…

an ode to bleach

I think it is only fitting that my first entry should be about bleach. not only is it the first anime that got hooked into the otaku world once again; it is the only manga that i have been faithfully following -every week- for the past 2 years now.

Also, what better way to do this than to pay homage to the creator of Bleach.: Tite Kubo. TK, as he is fondly called by Bleach fans is a genius!

Yes, that statement is completely biased. If he weren’t one then how could he have created such masterful storytelling and superb cast? Yeah, those statements are also biased.

With the end of Fullmetal Alchemist, I’m looking forward to how Bleach will wrap up. I’m sure a lot of people will react but I still believe that Bleach will have an awesome ending!

GO TK! I support you all the way.

I also must say that it is not enough to make a blog about Bleach and not mention about its lead. Ichigo- I am so fascinated with you. So fascinated that I actually considered naming my future son Ichigo.

I do hope you’ll hurry and save Karakura town and defeat Aizen already. While you’re at it- decide whether you like Orihime or Rukia. But I’m rooting for Orihime. I think she’s perfect for you. She’s just the right blend of fun to give color to you otherwise bleak persona. But hey, who am I to say this to you? Just prioritize defeating Aizen first ok?!
